SACRAMENTO AREA ROAD WORK SCHEDULE

July 10 – July 16, 2005

LONG-TERM PROJECTS

Interstate 80 (Sacramento and Yolo Counties) Work continues on an $8 million project to repair and rehabilitate the Caltrans Workers Memorial Bridge over the Sacramento River. The estimated completion date is spring 2005.  Motorists can expect Eastbound and Westbound various lane closures from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) Work continues on a $35 million project by the City of Roseville and Caltrans to improve the Douglas Blvd. interchange.  Completion is expected in the fall of 2005. 

July 12-15

Eastbound Interstate 80 will be closed at Douglas Blvd. on Wednesday from 12 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursday from 12 a.m. to 4 a.m.  Motorists will be taken off the freeway at Douglas Boulevard and detoured via North Sunrise Avenue to Eureka Road where they can return to I-80. 

Westbound Interstate 80 will be closed at Douglas Blvd. on Thursday from 12 a.m. to 4 a.m. and Friday 12 a.m. to 4 a.m.  Motorists will be will exit the Freeway at Atlantic Street and be detoured via Harding Boulevard to Douglas Boulevard where they will return to I-80.

A contractor will be removing the false work on the newly built fly-over ramp at the Douglas Blvd Interchange.

SHORT-TERM PROJECTS

Interstate 5 (Sacramento County) Pocket Road to I Street: Motorists can expect full and partial on and off-ramp closures from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday.  A contractor is scheduled to do grinding and paving.

Interstate 5 (Sacramento County) at Airport Blvd.: Motorists can expect the on-ramp from Airport Blvd to Southbound I-5 closed with a detour available from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday through Friday.  A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous construction work.

Interstate 5 (Yolo County) at County Road 22 to County Road103:  Motorists can expect the #2 lane closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.  A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do maintenance work.

Interstate 5 (Yolo County) at County Road 8: Motorists can expect the #1 lane closed from

7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.  A contractor is scheduled to do paving work.

Route 16 (Yolo County) from Tutt Street to Madison: Motorists can expect the #1 lane closed from 7 a.m. to 4 pm. Monday through Friday.  A contractor is scheduled to install lighting.

Route 16 (Yolo County) from the Cache Creek Casino to Plainfield Street: Motorists can expect one way traffic control from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 5 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday.  A contractor is scheduled to do a chip seal project.

U.S.  Highway 50 (El Dorado) at El Dorado Hills Blvd.: Motorists can expect the off-ramp from Westbound Highway 50 to El Dorado Hills Blvd. to be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday through Friday.  A contractor is scheduled to install barriers.

Route 65 (Placer County) at Ferrari Ranch Road: Motorists can expect the Northbound #1 lane closed and the Northbound left turn lane to Ferrari Ranch Road closed from

7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.  A contractor is expected to do permit work.

Interstate 80 (Sacramento County) end of the Yolo Causeway to Enterprise Blvd.: Motorists can expect Eastbound and Westbound lane closures as well as full and partial ramp closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Saturday.  A contractor is scheduled to do grinding and paving.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) at the Rocklin Road on-ramp to Westbound Interstate 80: Motorists can expect a partial ramp closure from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.  A contractor is scheduled to do permit work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) at Rocklin Road offramp from Eastbound and Westbound Interstate 80: Motorists can expect the #1 lane of the off-ramp to be closed from

7 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Tuesday through Thursday.  A contractor is scheduled to do permit work.

Route 99 (Sacramento County) from the Interstate 5/Route 99 split to the Sutter County Line:  Motorists can expect the Northbound and Southbound #1 lane closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday.  A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do slab repair.

Route 128 (Yolo County) from First Street to Dutton Street: Motorists can expect the #1 lane closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.  A contractor is scheduled to install a traffic signal.

Route 160 (Sacramento County) at Sherman Island Levee Road: Motorists can expect the #1 lane closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday.  A contractor is scheduled to do survey work.

Route 193 (El Dorado County) at Cherry Acres Road: Motorists can expect one way traffic control in effect from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday.  A contractor is scheduled to construct a left turn lane. 

Interstate 505 (Yolo County) at Hwy 16: Motorists can expect the #1 lane closed of the Northbound Hwy 16 off-ramp from Northbound and Southbound I-505 from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.  A contractor is scheduled to do paving work.

The Caltrans District Traffic Management Branch has reviewed each project and determined that individual project delays are expected to be less than the statewide policy maximum of 30 minutes, unless noted otherwise above.

Lanes are numbered from the center divide (#1) to the shoulder (#2, 3, 4, etc.).
