AUBURN—The search for Christie Wilson continued Saturday, as the Placer County Sheriffs Office announced they obtained medical records on the man suspected of murdering Christie, Mario Garcia.
The records show the 53-year old from Auburn went to a UC Davis Medical building on Bell Road, shortly after Christie disappeared.
He was apparently treated for scratches and claw marks on his arms, as well as a black eye.
Lt. George Malim of the Sheriff’s office told FOX40 this points to a struggle and he believes Christie may have put up a big fight before being murdered.
When detectives asked Garcia about the marks on his body, he claimed it was poison oak, “the whole situation is frustrating,” says Lt. George Malim of the Placer County Sheriff’s Office.
Searchers—many of them friends of the family—are angry that Garcia has not given more clues as to what happened in the early morning hours of October 5th.
Garcia was last seen with 27-year old Christie, as the two left the Thunder Valley Casino together shortly after one in the morning.
Saturday, teams spread out along the winding roads of Highway 193 between Lincoln and Auburn looking for clues.
Searchers have been going through miles of grass all over the county for the past few weeks—still no sign of Christie. But, they say they aren’t even close to giving up.
“Hopefully we will be able to find something that leads us to her whereabouts,” according a volunteer who didn’t want to be identified.
One month into the disappearance and counting, the wait for a conclusion is hard to bear.
They’ll be out here again Sunday, joined by Christie’s mom. And they will keep on searching for as long as it takes.
“Doin’ it for the purpose of recovering somebody’s daughter and it’s the right thing to do,” says the unidentified volunteer.
