Beginning Wednesday, July 16, and lasting until Tuesday, August 12, Fruitridge Road from Highway 99 to the Union Pacific railroad tracks just east of 24th Street will be resurfaced. A portion of Franklin Boulevard will also be resurfaced; 300 feet north and south of Fruitridge Road.
During the project, existing traffic lanes will have controls in place to allow for one lane of traffic to be open at all times. Flaggers will also be used in intersections for traffic control. Message boards will be in place warning motorists to expect delays, although work will be performed during the evening hours, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., to limit traffic impacts.
The resurfacing is part of a federally-funded annual preventative maintenance program to extend the life of City streets and reduce the need for costly road reconstruction projects.
