As a retired teacher, I would say that kids who work usually are more responsible in school too. And they quickly learn that "good" jobs require an education. Many other kids don't learn this until they drop out and find that employers don't want them. A good part time job when you are 14 may help keep kids in school. Our government interferes too much. Keep up the good work John!
As a child I wanted to earn my on money to purchase "MY STYLE" of clothing. At age 12 I started as a "Paper Boy" helper in my neighbor, ultimately becoming "The Man". No one viewed this entrepreanual spirit as being abused by Blood Sucking Capitalist in the News Media. It was a START into business for many of us. We traded our time learning skills dealing with people, benefiting us, as we moved into responsible adulthood. I really feel short changed now by not having some S.O.B. from the Federal Government acting as my MAMA tell me I was being abused and could not earn the money I desired. I guess I abused my boys by buying them lawn mowers and letting them cut grass for spending money.
