With home values falling, tax officials say more than 100,000 homeowners in Alameda and Contra Costa counties may see their property taxes fall this year. Contra Costa County officials say they’re expecting the assessed value will decline for 65,000 to 75,000 homes. In Alameda County, it’s expected 30,000 to 40,000 homes will see declines.
