ACTIVISM WORKS! Supervisors vote 3-2 Against Unlimited Access to Needles for Drug Addicts.

Thanks to all of you who called, faxed and emailed the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors, we were able to defeat this measure that would have allowed drug addicts to purchase hypodermic needles in mass without a prescription.

Sac County Supervisors Consider Giving Drug Addicts Unrestricted Access to Needles

Yesterday I got a call asking for my help to stop the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors from approving a measure that would give drug addicts unfettered access to needles throughout the county.

Supreme Court Refuses to Hear Appeal…Execution Date to be set for Stanley Williams

Last week, the US Supreme Court refused to hear the final appeal of convicted murderer Stanley “Tookie” Williams. On October 24th a judge will be asked to sign the order setting the date of execution for December 13, 2005.

As my regular readers know, while I believe that Williams should pay for his crimes, I also believe that society would benefit from keeping Stanley alive (in prison) and allowing him to continue his life changing work.
