River City BAnk renounces “art” display - pulls
I just got off the telephone with Jeanne Reaves, President and CEO of River City Bank.
1) River City Bank is NOT a sponsor of the offensive "art" on display at the AG's office
2) They were asked to fund a non-profit legal aid organization that assists artists who need but cannot afford legal representation ... they were never asked to contribute to anything like what is on display
3) They are furious (my word) at the Art's Council for listing them as a sponsor
4) They are furious (my word) at irresponsible media (uninformed blogs and a small radio station) that have been directing public outrage toward the bank with having even spoken with anyone at the bank
5) The content of the exhibit "does not sit well" with the president of the bank
In short, despite what you have been hearing, River City Bank was duped; they are not a sponsor of this outrage, and would not sponsor such a thing given the opportunity. As I type this they are contacting the California Arts Council to demand a retraction.

“Sponsors” of offensive “art” duped?
UPDATE:
California Arts Council deception?
Over the weekend, and today I have been in conversations with the three companies listed as “sponsors” of Baghdad Bill’s vile display.
Here are the results:
1) River City Bank: was unaware and shocked that they are listed as a sponsor for this display, as of 10:00 AM today (Monday 7/25) bank executives were in a closed meeting presumably to decide what to do about it. I expect to announce on my San Francisco show today at Noon (KNEW 910 AM) that they have renounced the “works” in question.
2) Lexis-Nexis: the individual listed as the contact for this “sponsor” on the Arts Council web site tells me that my call was the first he heard of anything having to do with his company sponsoring such an outrage (he agreed that the content of the show was “offensive”) and that he was back-tracking up the corporate food-chain to find out more.
3) GBC Realtors (Linda Wood, Broker – also listed as sponsor contact at Arts Council web site). No response to my weekend email asking for her response.
I will have more for our Bay Area readers today from Noon – 3 PM on Talk 910 KNEW AM; and for the rest of the west coast tonight from 7 – 10 PM on NewsTalk 1530 KFBK AM.

Beware of Charging RINOs

As 2006 campaigns begin to take shape RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) are taking aim, not at Democrats, but fellow Republicans. While this is nothing new, what is different is their willingness to use talking points provided by the liberal mass media.

Federal Judge Roberts Is Bush’s Choice

By DEB RIECHMANN, Associated Press Writer
President Bush chose federal appeals court judge John G. Roberts Jr. on Tuesday as his first nominee for the Supreme Court, selecting a rock-solid conservative who has won broad support from both parties but still faces what could be a contentious battle over the direction of the nation's highest court.
